Bobby Singer
Bobby’s career in filtration started in 1989 at Air Filter Testing Laboratories. He served as a lab technician there while studying communications at The University of Louisville and computer science at Sullivan University. He joined Blue Heaven Technologies as lab manager in 2005. He has earned the designation as a Certified Air Filtration Specialist through the National Air Filtration Association where he currently sits on the board of directors. Bobby has also completed training in Aerosol and Particle Measurement at The University of Minnesota Particle Technology department. Bobby is heavily involved with ASHRAE as well, as he is a voting member of the ASHRAE SSPC 52.2 committee, the ASHRAE TC 2.4 committee and is chair of the ASHRAE TC 2.4 Standards Sub-Committee. Bobby became owner and president of Blue Heaven Technologies in February of 2023. When he’s not working, Bobby enjoys attending sporting events and spending time with his wife, son and daughter in Crestwood, Kentucky.
J.J. Singer
J.J. joined Blue Heaven in 2021. Her work history is primarily in psychiatric administration including human resources, accounting and practice management. She was born and raised in Oldham County Kentucky. J.J. and her husband Bobby have two children. When she is not working, she enjoys time in the sun and around water, planning events and hanging out with her family and friends.
Bob Burkhead
Retired president of Blue Heaven Technologies founded in July 2004, is now an active consultant. He has strong technical experience in research and development with patents and design awards. He has 35 years of experience in air filtration product development and production activities, including 25 years spent with two major air filtration manufacturing firms. Bob remains heavily involved in Boy Scouts, is an avid UofL fan, and is a closet environmentalist.
Tyler Shoulders
Tyler graduated from Sullivan University with a degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology. He has been with Blue Heaven Technologies since 2015 and currently serves as the HVAC/Industrial Laboratory Manager. Tyler is a key technical person for testing involving HVAC, ozone, automotive, industrial and clean room applications. He has earned the designation as a Certified Air Filtration Specialist (CAFS) by The National Air Filtration Association (NAFA) and completed certification training in Aerosol and Particle Measurement at the University of Minnesota Particle Technology Laboratory. As of 2023, Tyler is a voting member of ASHRAE TC 5.4 and is also involved with AHAM. Outside of work, Tyler enjoys golfing, bourbon tours, and traveling to new places.
Joe Koenig
Joe joined Blue Heaven Technologies in 2009. He holds a CAFS certificate. He handles Industrial Lab Testing and Weld Shop Operations for Blue Heaven. In his free time, Joe enjoys family time, fishing and restoring old cars such as a 1964 GTO.
Ceri Rees
Ceri has been with BHT since 2018. He is a lab technician responsible for testing household and industrial filters for compliance with ASHRAE Standard 52.2; ISO Standards 16890 & 29461; and EN779. Also responsible for testing In-Duct Electrostatic and UVC Air Cleaners for compliance with CSA 22.2 & California ARB. Testing of Industrial Filters in compliance with NESHAP 319 Test Method. He has extensive Police and Military experience, having served nearly 30 years between the Royal Air Force Police and the Metropolitan Police, and is highly trained and current in First Aid. He has earned the designation as a Certified Air Filtration Specialist (CAFS) by The National Air Filtration Association (NAFA).
Evan Sparks
Evan has been with Blue Heaven Technologies since 2017. Evan is a degreed Chemical Engineer from the University of Kentucky. He is a key technical person for testing of flat sheet media along with special project and product capabilities. He has been instrumental in our efforts testing vacuum cleaners, HEPA and ULPA filters and room air cleaners. He has represented Blue Heaven at engineering society meetings ASHRAE, ASTM, NAFA and INDA. He has earned the designation as a Certified Air Filtration Specialist (CAFS) by The National Air Filtration Association (NAFA). In his spare time he enjoys playing golf and basketball as well as spending time at the lake with family and friends.
Marilyn Watkins
Marilyn is an independent contractor with 40 years of experience in the air filter industry. Marilyn has been working with Blue Heaven Technologies since 2018 in the areas of Quality, Safety, Training and Calibration. She has a B.A., M.B.A. and J.D. Degree and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association. Her specialties are international standards implementations and filter forensics. Marilyn is an avid reader and enjoys grande caffe lattes at the local book store.
Tom Singer
Tom graduated from The University of Louisville in 2017 and has worked as a Blue Heaven technician for 3 years. He assists in the ASHRAE and Flatsheet labs. Outside of Blue Heaven, Tom enjoys hiking and biking the great outdoors. He has earned the designation as a Certified Air Filtration Specialist (CAFS) by The National Air Filtration Association (NAFA).
